Graduated in Dentistry from the Bauru School of Dentistry (FOB), USP (1992), Master in Dentistry, area of Periodontics, FOB-USP (1995) and Ph.D. in Functional and Molecular Biology from UNICAMP (1999) and Specialist in Orofacial Harmonization (2021). She was (2011-2014) Member of the Awards Review Committee of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and Member of the Board of the European Organization for Research in Caries (ORCA). She was Chair of the IADR Cariology group (2019-2020) and coordinator of the Health Area II (Dentistry) at FAPESP (2018-2022. She was Head of the Department of Biological Sciences (2006-2010) and President of the Research Committee (2014-2018) at FOB-USP. She was Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Oral Sciences and the International Journal of Dentistry. She is currently Full Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences and Dean of FOB-USP, 1A researcher at CNPq and Editor of the Monographs in Oral Science series (Karger). She has expertise in Dentistry, with emphasis on Cariology, Oral Biochemistry and Orofacial Harmonization, acting on the following topics: fluorides, dental fluorosis, dental caries, dental erosion, bacterial biofilm, acquired film, toxicology, proteomics and autologous platelets aggregates. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry (chair 69) since 2021. Received more than 70 awards, highlighting the Basil Bibby Young Investigator Award in Cariology (IADR, 2008) and the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award H. Trendley Dean Memorial Award (2014). She has published 5 books and more than 400 articles in journals with a selective editorial policy. She presents h factor = 41, with 7050 citations (WOS).
