Sylvie Babajko, PhD

Research Director
Senior Investigator at Inserm
Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology, Habilitation for Research Direction at the University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris
Sylvie Babajko has a PhD of Pharmacology and Cell Biology from Sorbonne Université (1993). She first developed her research on the roles of Insulin-like Growth Factors (IGFs) and their binding proteins (IGFBPs) in the metabolism, growth and cancer. After a post-doc on mRNA decay, she joined the community of oral health and odontology. She underlined the importance of Msx homeogenes and their antisense RNAs in oral early development.

Since 2013, she focused her research activity on exposome and oral pathologies due to exposure to environmental toxicants, especially fluoride and those with endocrine disrupting activities (bisphenols and phthalates among others).
